8 is Great!!

This past week Davis celebrated his 8th Birthday.  It seems like the past 8 years have gone by so fast.  I feel so blessed to be his Mom.  Here are some of Davis` favorite things:

Favorite Color:  Purple
Favorite Song:  ``Eye of the Tiger`` by Glass Tiger
Favorite Subject in School:  Gym
Favorite Food:  Perogies
Favorite Movie:  Hop
Favorite TV Show:  The Looney Tunes Show
Favorite Video Game:  Super Mario Brothers
In his spare time he likes to:  Play Video Games, Build Lego, and go to his Jiu Jitsu class
When he grows up he wants to design video games

Davis` birthday was on Monday, and he had a pretty great day.  I made cupcakes for his school class, and he got to stay after school for stay-and-play and do a drama work shop.  For dinner I made Fried Rice and Sushi, and for dessert Drew made some homemade Oreo-Chocolate Ice-cream.  It was SO good.

After we opened presents, Phoenix gathered up all of the paper and put it in the garbage.

On Saturday, Davis invited a couple of his friends over and Drew took them to see ``The Pirates`` at the movie theatre.  Then they came back for Pizza, Presents, Playing and Ice Cream Cake.  I think he had a pretty great day.

Our kids love Video Games.  Taylor likes to get in on the action too.

April 22

This week was fairly typical...school for the boys, work for Drew, procrastinating on cleaning the house for me.  We are starting to have some Spring-like weather, so we have been spending a lot of time out playing in the backyard, and the snow is gone except for a teeny little amount. We also took the kids swimming at the Millwoods Rec Centre.  It was a really fun pool.  Here are some pictures I took this week.

Not too sure what exactly Phoenix was listening to, but he walked around listening to the iPod for at least 20 minutes.  It was the quietest he was all day.

On Thursday we had really nice weather in the morning, so we spent the morning outside playing, and I read a book.  It was great.  Taylor was outside too, and she had so much fun, that while I was getting Marcus on the bus, she fell asleep in her highchair.

Phoenix decided that he wanted to earn some money by raking leaves.

Playing outside after church today.  The boys even ate their lunch out there.

After church, I dressed Davis up in his new suit to take pictures for his Baptism on May 5 (It is going to be at the River Bend Stake Centre, you are all invited!!).  I want to save the pictures for that day, but here is our picture-taking location.

Easter Weekend

Last weekend we made the trek down to Southern Alberta for Easter.  We hadn't been down since Christmas, so we figured it was time to make the trip.  Our first stop was Aetna.  The boys had a great time playing, riding quads, and decorating Easter Eggs.  I had a good time cooking, visiting, and doing a mini Mary Kay Party

When we were down, I tried to keep up with my exercising.  I always am blown away from the view from my parents front step.  It is so beautiful.  It was also a bit strange to go for a run/walk/whatever-it-is-I-do and have no cars pass me at all.  Sometimes if I get a song that I really like on my IPod, I have a hard time not singing along, or I  dance when a Lady Gaga song comes on.  Since I didn't see anybody while I was out, there wasn't any problems with me embarrassing myself.

Our next stop was Lethbridge.  We spent lots of time at my old house (weird) having an egg hunt, playing and eating.  Drew's sister had a new baby boy, and one of the main reasons for us going down was to go to his Baby Blessing.  We had a great time visiting with family and friends.  We went to our old Ward, and it was nice to see some familiar faces.

These pictures are from yesterday, but since I just took them off my camera, I decided to add them on because they are so cute.  All along Drew said that he wanted all boys, so it was a big surprise when this little girl made her appearance.  It is very cute to see them together.   We all love her so much.  She has been a bit cranky lately, with having a cold, and traveling, and teething and such, but yesterday she was starting to act like her cute little self again, and it was so great.  I love when I dress Taylor up for church in her cute little dresses, and Phoenix says to her "Taylor, you are a Princess!!"  Yes, she sure is.

Spring Break

The boys had the week off from school this week.  The crappy part was that it was a different week than Drew had his week off, so he was at work the whole time.  We somehow managed to fill in the time, and for the most part we stayed sane, and there was minimal fighting.  We set up the tent in the basement, and the boys slept in it.  We played DS and IPad.  We baked.  I started a quilt for Davis.  We (I) slept-in, and it was glorious.

Davis wanted to make fancy cupcakes, so we made these Buttered Popcorn ones.  He did a really good job.  He made the popcorn ones, and Marcus and Phoenix decorated cupcakes with colored marshmallows.

We had really  nice weather, so we went for lots of bike rides, and played at the park.  Taylor LOVED the swings.  She would get upset when it was time to go home.  On the way home from the park, I would let Davis ride as fast as he could home, and that was his favorite part.

We also fit in a couple of dates.  Drew took Phoenix to McDonalds at the Mall, and came home with the Green Lantern.

I also took Davis to the Mall, but we had Marble Slab, looked at King Kong and the Dragon at the Movie Theatre, and we did some shopping for Davis` Suit for when he gets Baptized.  He is going to look so great!!  Normally, he isn`t such a slob when he eats Ice Cream, but we took a picture to send to Auntie Robyn to rub-in that we went to Marble Slab without her.  I loved spending some one-on-one time with him.
