Fall

It is obvious that I have been spending more time taking Sunday afternoon naps, then Blogging.  With Drew now having to go to Sunday morning meetings (he is the Yong Mens President), and me having to get the kids ready and to church on time, it might be a challenge for me to not take more naps.  This morning we were lucky to get to church, and we were not on time.  At least I made it before the opening prayer, so I guess that isn't too awful.  Anyhow, here is what the Northern Wolsey's have been up to.

Drew's Birthday and Grandma & Grandpa come to visit

The kids were super excited for Grandpa Tom and Grandma Jane to come and visit us.  One of the things that we did while they were here was to ride the Streetcar over the High Level Bridge.  We got on the streetcar on Jasper Ave, and went across the Bridge to Old Strathcona.  We were going to walk around Whyte Ave for a bit, but we didn't have enough time.

Ah, don't let those caged animals out!!

This was when we went in the tunnel.  Don't they look scared.

We also celebrated Drew's Birthday by going to a very good Mexican & El Salvadorian restaurant.  I admit I was very skeptical because it looked like a dive, but the food was SO good.  On Sunday Drew requested Pork Roast for dinner, and I made him a Lemon Meringue and a Coconut Creme pie.

Opening his cards and treat basket from us.

Taylor already knows what the good stuff is...

Nose-picker-Nay!!

We Are Famous!!

In March, we did a FHE lesson about things that help us grow Spiritually.  The kids thought it would be a great thing to put into the Friend.  They dutifully checked the Friend each month to see if our picture was in it, and in the October issue, it finally was.  They were pretty excited to open it up, and see themselves in it.

Some Random Pictures

Phoenix had to stay in our room one night, and he missed the bed.

This is Davis' favorite pair of underwear.  We call them his Summer Underwear.

One Friday Drew had off because it was mid-term week and he got all of his marking done, and the kids had PD day, so they went to the mall and had Frozen Yogurt.

Phoenix is making a snow-angel in all of the snow that we had.  This was to rub in to all the Lethbridge people that they had a ton, and we didn't have any.  We have a lot now!!

After the kids get out of the bath, they like to "be bugs".

Cuddles with some babies.

The boys did a Terry Fox Run at school.  They all wore stickers to say who they were running for, and the both ran for Grandpa Tom.

Phoenix started soccer this year.  I'm not sure if he has touched the ball yet, but he sure likes to go play.

Marcus went to the dentist for the first time.

Halloween Spirit

Before Halloween we like to go to the Halloween Store and check out all of the costumes, and the boys like to try on the masks.  Can you tell who is who?

Football Man-Trip

This year the boys went to Arizona for their Man Trip.  They had never been to Arizona before and they got a good deal on flights, so they decided to go somewhere new.

Temple Open House/Telus World of Science

We were lucky enough to have a temple built in Calgary.  Drew and I decided that maybe it would be best if I took the older boys and went.  It was a pretty amazing experience to be able to share with my boys.  The temple is incredibly beautiful, and when I walked into the Celestial Room, my breath was taken away.  I am grateful that I am able to attend the temple, and that I live 15 minutes away from a temple here in Edmonton.  The temple dedication was broadcast to us, and it was also a great experience to be able to see President Monson dedicate this beautiful building.

While we were gone, Drew took Phoenix and Taylor to The Telus World of Science.  It is one of our favorite places to take the kids, and they really enjoyed it.  They have a new kids area that is a huge hit with the kids, especially the water tables.

Halloween

A Playschool craft.

We went to a Halloween Party, and Drew was figuring out what to wear.  He wanted to be a Jedi.

Davis playing in our costume box.

This is what the kids wore for the first, and I think second Halloween Parties that we went to.

I made Taylor a Little-Red-Riding-Hood costume.  I think she looked pretty cute.

Our pumpkins this year.  The first one is Marcus', then Davis designed his own face, and then Phoenix's is on the right.

This is how the kids dressed up for actual Halloween.  It was a really cold night, so they were all wearing at least 2 sweaters underneath their costumes.  Taylor really liked to go Trick-or-Treating.  She liked getting candy, but she wanted to stop and eat what she got.  We all went out, but Taylor and I just went around for a bit, and then went home because it was too cold.

My Turn To Go To Arizona

For my Birthday Drew surprised me with a flight to Arizona, and Lynn bought me a ticket to Time Out For Women.  It was such a great trip.  I had such a great time visiting with my sister, who I love dearly.  It was really hard to go.  We went shopping, ate some really good food, made cupcakes together, visited, laughed, shopped.  It was so great.  I wish we lived closer together.

I went for a run, and it was so beautiful out.  I miss running outside.

At one of the Deseret Bookstores, the Girls from Our Best Bites were doing a book signing.  I convinced Lynn that we needed to go.  It was so cool (and I admit a bit nerdy of me) to meet them.  They are just as nice and funny as they are on their blog.  Kate was telling me a funny story about how her brother went on a mission to Vancouver, and he got a tattoo of Bugs Bunny on his butt while he was there, and was trying to get it off with sandpaper.

I wanted to go to the shoe store, and Lynn told me that when they go, they try on really tall heels, and how funny it is to see Breanna walk around in them.  So, like the great Aunt I am, I made her try on some really tall shoes.
This is us at Time Out for Women.  It was really great.  We had some really great speakers, and some great music.

Marcus' 6th Birthday

I was in Arizona on Marcus' Birthday and I felt super guilty about it.  They had a good time without me though.  Drew let him pick the meals that day, and what they did, so they had chocolate pancakes for breakfast, Burger King for lunch, went to the Science Centre, and then they had Kraft Dinner with Beans for supper.  When I got home I made him Homemade Pizza which is one of his other favorite dinners.

Marcus wanted to have a Super Mario Bros. Party this year.  I thought that Drew and I planned a pretty good party.  Drew and I make a good team, he does the games and I do the rest, and it turns out great.

Davis' Art Exhibit

All of the schools in the School Division submit the best artwork from their students, and then those art pieces are picked to be on display in the School Division office downtown.  Davis' cat picture was one of the ones picked.  There were only 2 other students picked from Davis' school.
